With 24 years of experience in the healthcare field, Ron Chorzewski has served as   the Executive Director of Agility Orthopedics in Stoneham, Massachusetts since   2009.  Agility has 8 orthopaedic surgeons, 4 physician assistants, and a compliment   of physical and occupational therapists.  Starting his career as a physical therapist, Ron began his administrative career in rehabilitation and then evolved into orthopaedic administration.

A member of the AAOE since 2009, Ron has served on the Communications Council for one year and is presently a member of the Education Council.  Ron proudly serves on the Board of Trustees for the Georgetown Peabody Library where he is presently the chairperson.  Also, he is a member of the Parish Council, Head Usher, and a Religious Education Teacher at St. Mary’s Parish in his hometown of Georgetown, Massachusetts.

When not working, Ron enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife Maria and their three children Jaclyn, a nursing student at the University of Massachusetts, Kristen and Kyle.

Jan Vest is the Chief Executive Officer of Signature Medical Group, a multi- specialty physician group with 125 physicians practicing in St. Louis, Kansas City   and Southwest Missouri.  Signature Medical Group employs 800 employees   working at 28 locations. Signature’s 59 orthopedic surgeons, along with physical medicine, OB/GYN, gastroenterology, colorectal surgery, dermatology, family practice, pediatrics and allergy physicians, provide more than 420,000 patient visits annually.

Jan has more than 20 years of executive leadership and operations management at medical practices in four states.   He works as a medical practice consultant with a special interest and experience in organizational development and business practice management. Jan was previously the director of clinic operations for Valley Wide Health Services, a community health center in Colorado.  He was an original Board member of the Galen Malpractice Insurance Company. He has consulted with major university medical centers and health systems. He was on the National Committee for Quality Assurance Advisory Committee developing the NCQA Spine Physician Recognition Program. Jan is a past member of the Health Care Industry Council of The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.  Most recently he was asked to introduce the honorable Don Berwick, MD at the Signature Healthcare Foundation in St. Louis. Signature Orthopedic Department is the only private practice orthopedic group in the country awarded the Model II Bundled payment project from CMS centers of innovation which will began January 1 2014.

Karen entered the field of HealthCare administration more than 30 years ago. During the initial phase of her career, Karen’s focus was on Internal Medicine. After successfully growing a solo practice into a 7 physician Internal Medicine Group practice she transitioned into the specialty group arena. 

Since 1994, Karen served as the Practice Administrator for The Orthopaedic  Group of San Francisco and moved into the role of Chief Administrative Officer for Sports Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Medical Group in 2003. Karen is currently the Chief Executive Officer for Webster Orthopedics.

As a means of remaining current on industry trends, for the past 6 years Karen has consistently maintained an active Leadership role in the AAOE. Karen began her volunteer role as the Chair of the membership committee.  With her guidance the committee was successful in increasing membership by 20 percent.  For the past 3 years Karen has served as the AAOE Annual Conference Chair.  Each year resulted in enhanced educational content, collaborative vendor relationships, focused approaches to networking, solid processes for member participation and increased member satisfaction. As Karen continues her leadership on the board of the AAOE it reinforces her ongoing commitment to the association and the profession.

Kitchi Joyce is the Director of Practice Informatics for OrthoAtlanta, an 18 physician orthopaedic group with 8 locations throughout Metro Atlanta, Georgia.   She has more than 18 years of orthopaedic management experience both at the   clinic and corporate levels.  Kitchi has held the title of Practice Administrator, Director of Marketing, and Director of Administrative Services.  She is experienced with the integration of Finance, Business Development, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing and all other aspects of practice management. 

Kitchi has been a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Executives since 2010, serving on the Annual Conference Committee for three years and the Elections Council twice.  She currently serves on the Membership Committee. 

In addition to AAOE, Kitchi is also an active member of MGMA.  She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Association of Orthopaedic Executives (GAOE), most recently serving as President of the organization.

In her free time, Kitchi loves being “Aunt Chi Chi” to 4 year old twins and enjoys traveling, indoor cycling, tennis, and most importantly, Georgia Bulldog Football.  Go Dawgs!!

 Rebecca Dean, MA, FACMPE

Rebecca Dean is the CEO of Sportsmedicine & Orthopaedics Fairbanks, an Orthopaedic Care and Surgical Practice Clinic in Fairbanks, Alaska.  Additionally, she is a Healthcare Executive Consultant and principal of Dean & Associates/Management Solutions, a Medical Management consulting firm.  Ms. Dean holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and distinguished herself by being the first Alaskan to attain Fellow status from the American College of Medical Practice Executives.  She attained this distinction in 1994.     Rebecca has been credentialed in secondary education and served as faculty at the Master’s Degree Program Level.  Ms. Dean lectures on Leadership, Governance, Business Operations, Strategic Planning, Risk Management/Compliance, Contracting, and Physician and Physician Assistant Creative Contracting at the national level. 

Rebecca has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare management with a broad based proficiency in all aspects of practice operations, efficiency, governance and leadership.  Prior to her current senior management positions, she served as CEO of Alaska’s largest multi-specialty medical clinic. 

Rebecca serves as Secretary on the American Academy of Orthopaedics Executives National Board and served as Chair, American College of Medical Practice Executives in 2009 and during her term as Chair, was appointed to the Medical Group Management Board of Directors.  She is Past-President of Western Section, Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), where she worked tirelessly to increase participation by Medical Practitioners focusing on enhancing professional standards for Medical Practices.  Rebecca has served as a member of the original Medical Group Management Association’s National Expert Panel for Role Delineation for Healthcare Executives, as a member of the American College of Medical Practice Executives Body of Knowledge Expert Panel and the Expert Panel for the Update for the Body of Knowledge.  She is Past President of the MGMA Ambulatory, Surgery Management Society, Past President of Alaska Medical Group Management Association, Past Chair of the National ACMPE Exam Committee, and has served on the National MGMA Learning Resource Center/Education Committee.  In addition, she has served on multiple additional MGMA Assemblies /Societies and in National Committee Leadership positions.  In 2011 she co-chaired a national search committee to select a CEO for the National Medical Group Management Association. Rebecca has served on the national MGMA Legislative Affairs Committee and the national MGMA Administrative Simplification Committee.   Rebecca is active with the Women in Business Leaders Foundation (WBL).

She currently works for the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center in Red Bank, NJ, and has been a member of AAOE for 10 years. Jana has served on the Education Council, the Membership Committee, the Legacy Committee, and now as an AAOE board member and as the Board Liaison for the ALPS Committee. She has written content for the eNewsletter and presented at the 2016 annual conference. 

Jana works as a healthcare consultant with demonstrated effectiveness at identifying systemic and operational roadblocks to success, implementing strategies that affect change at multiple levels. Her skills have allowed companies to increase profits by streamlining operational practices in areas such as general business, human resources, recruitment, customer service and service delivery, and organizational development and management. Jana also serves on MDAdvantage Insurance Company of New Jersey’s Practice Management Advisory Committee.

Jana is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton and holds a Master’s degree and is doctoral prepared in Clinical Psychology from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Illinois. As a clinician, Jana and her team won the prestigious Cigna Presidents Award for their contribution to the national preferred provider initiative. Jana has served as an operations leader developing and implementing specialized treatment programming and as a speaker and consultant on issues related to effective facility and community corrections programming strategy, her efforts resulted in multi-state legislation of measures that resulted in an increase in community safety.

Jason McCormick serves as the Manager, Process Improvement at Campbell Clinic, a 50-physician practice located in Germantown, TN and the surrounding areas. Founded by Dr. Willis C. Campbell in 1909, Campbell Clinic has been a leader in the practice of orthopaedic surgery and sports management. Campbell Clinic currently employs more than 500 employees in five office locations and two ambulatory surgery centers, and offers a full complement of ancillary services. 


Jason has more than 20 years’ experience working in healthcare environments and has extensive training in quality management and process improvement. Jason’s commitment to continued education led him to his initial service on the Education Council of AAOE. Since that time, he has been a volunteer member on multiple committees and served as the Chair of the Education Council and Specialized Education Committee. He also serves as a medical practice consultant with a special interest in regulatory programs and process/quality management.


In his time away from work, Jason enjoys spending time with his wife, Jana, and his three children, Mandy, Parker, and Preston. His interests include University of Tennessee football, American history, and spending time with his boys fishing.

Chad Sackman is the Chief Operating Officer of Signature Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician group with 160 physicians in St. Louis, Kansas City, and Southwest Missouri.  In addition to Orthopaedics, Signature Medical Group also has physical medicine and rehabilitation, OB/GYN, colorectal surgery, family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, podiatry, and allergy. 


Chad Sackman has been with Signature Medical Group since 2001.  During that time, he has held numerous clinical and business positions.  Since 2005 he has been the administrator for one of the largest orthopaedic divisions within Signature Medical Group.  In addition, Chad serves as the COO for the entire organization.  Signature’s Orthopaedic division has also been involved in the orthopaedic Medicare Bundle Payment for Care Improvement program.  


As a member of AAOE, Chad has served as the Council Chair for the AAOE Benchmarking and Data Analytics Council since 2014

Sam has 13 years experience as a Practice Administrator for a solo orthopaedic surgery practice where he is extensively involved in all aspects of running the practice. Sam started his career in banking and attended Law School at night. He spent four years with AT Kearney, an international consulting firm headquartered in Chicago and concluded his banking/financial services consulting career with an AT Kearney client, ABN-AMRO. 

Sam joined AAOE in 2006 and served as the Council Chair for the Membership Council for the past five years. He is currently serving as a mentor in the AAOE Mentoring Program and is the Board Liaison for the ALPS Committee.

An avid reader and golfer, Sam enjoys spending time with his two daughters, Anna and Kate along with a very disobedient Golden Retriever named Scout.
